In the wake of the pandemic, more of us are forgoing our vacation days, and that’s a huge problem. In the U.S., some 48% of people cancelled their summer travel plans this year. But Fast Company’s Stephanie Vozza reminds us we still need down time, even if our journeys don’t take us past our front door. Vozza argues it’s time to rethink vacation during these anxious times. Even taking short stints away from our work-from-home routines can help. Take what you can, when you can. And managers can do their part by normalizing and encouraging this revised form of vacation.
